Gigabyte - Good brand?

They are a good brand.

Among the best for motherboards.

May I ask what specific Gigabyte board you are looking at? Do you already have the CPU?
 
They are one of the best brands of motherboards and have been for a long time.

I have had various gigabyte motherboards over the last 8 years or so. Only once did I experience a problem which I thought was due to a motherboard and I used gigabytes rma service and very good it is too. Based in Milton Keynes and you get a detailed test report along with photos.

The test report and photos in my case showed the motherboard to be working and they returned it by next day courier. Very happy.
 
One of the if not the best UK based service (in country RMA/service) and I feel a overall more honest company.

In that case I would strongly suggest looking at the P67 boards and i5 2500K CPU instead. Its the next generation and it just got released.

My next board will be a gigabyte theres 2 boards in my house older than my asus and both have had about 10x the bios updates mine has, thanks to asus sucking mine hasn't even had X6 support added where as the 2 gigabyte ones have! :mad:
