What's the most scared you've ever been?

Wow i used to have a place exactly like this where i live and it was called the witches tunnel, the amount of "booties" i got running through there was incredible, Actually im not sure i ever had dry feet as a kid :D

Well? Was the witches tunnel you used to go to in Harlow?

When my sis had a cancer scare (fortunately she was clear and it wasn't anything).

When I saw one of my friends have a total malfunction (skydiving) and before I even got to him I knew he was dead - the moment before that was gut churning.

Seeing a car pull out in front of me when I was on my motorbike, knowing that I was going to hit him.

Being in Palestine during a large Israeli attack (shot at, and shelled - not fun at all).

Those 4 stick out the most.

What happened on the skydiving one? :S sounds horrible :(

I just remembered another time.

I was 6 and on a skiing vacation with only my dad very high up in the mountains. He went out to chop some wood and I was sat inside doing something when he just came in limping and sat down asking me to help get his snow gear off. He was completely in shock and could barely speak and I helped him get his trousers off before seeing his whole leg was covered in blood and just gore really. He had managed to chop himself in the leg with the axe, right in the middle of the shinbone and it was splintered all the way both sides.

Being pretty much in shock myself I had to run out and down the road quite a bit to call Red Cross (this was in 95 so it wasn't easy to get a signal so high up). First they arrived on a snow scooter to clear the road of snow so the ambulance could go trough.

I was pretty calm until we got to the hospital place and I could hear my dad screaming in the room next door from them closing his leg up before transporting him to a proper hospital. I could also hear talk of how he had lost a lot of blood and how he needed to be picked up by a helicopter because of it. Then I got pretty scared :) Was not very fun spending the night with Red Cross worrying about my dad making it before my mom came and took me home.

It was a bit funny though to see all the people there with sprained ankles and wrists look around wondering what on earth all that screaming was for.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but how did the situation resolve itself? I mean, I assume the person with the knife had the sense to think again and put it down before causing injury.

Yeah he just wanted to get his point across I think. Because I was stuck by the sofa and dining room table (was a tiny flat) I put my hand against his chest to stop him from coming any closer but unfortunately he was stronger, grabbed by wrist and threatened to cut my fingers off. He held the blade against my hand and I honestly thought he was going to do it. (because he'd strangled me once before so what would stop him going one step further?) I burst into tears and said something along the lines of "no, let me go!" and he did.

Then the next day he had the nerve to say it was all my fault!

I told my mum and at first her reaction was "WHAT?!" two seconds later she said "well..I suppose your granddad threatened your nan with a carving knife once."

My mum's really not a good judge of character!! Quite a few times I asked her to come and get me as I couldn't drive but when she did my ex would spin some line and she'd imply I was making a mountain out of a molehill.
Unfortunately she always seems to take their side then after the relationship is over will say "I always said he was a bad one." Which is a complete lie.

People wonder why I flinch so easily nowadays. I was very naive back then and didn't realise that it would be classed as violence. I thought he would have to hit me in the face or punch me for anything to be done.

Wouldn't be the first time someone's been violent towards me but I'm hoping it's the last!!

It's nothing compared to some of the other stories in here though :(

Being told that my partner had Leukaemia, I still have nightmares and random episodes where I still randomly burst in tears as this was 2-3 years ago.

Wasn't the best experience of my life to be fair. :(

His main canopy didn't open properly, but when he tried to cut away the main tangled with the reserve (he panicked I guess and basically didn't give enough time for the main to clear, though I think he had an RSL (reserve static line - automatically opens the reserve)) - so he effectively had a bag of washing above his head and hit the ground very hard. :(

My god! The terror that chap must have felt...so sad. After reading that I had my head in my hands. I just can't comprehend it. :( Must have been psychologically horrendous for you Freefaller. :(

How did you manage that?

While in China last year my uncle and I invested about £400,000 in stock on China Everbright Bank because their net profit surged by 71% in the third quarter. We bought it as a lump sum at the time thinking it was smart. Whilst we were on another business trip looking at real estate development in the province of Shanbei, the stock fell consistently for a week.

On holiday in Devon when I was 17. I met a girl there and we went for a walk across some fields. Just when we were in the middle of a large field, a bull came charging at us. There was no where to run to so we just stood there. It stopped about 10 feet from us looking very angry. We walked slowly to the edge of the field with the bull following us. We climbed over then fence and it walked off.

 What a nasty spineless little bully he is, someone should brand him on his forehead with the C word, ******* cowardly little scrote.

It was a tough time. Still see his brother (who still jumps) and try and celebrate his life - it's one of those things :( It was nearly 7 years ago - you just have to get on with life, but I do think about it - helps me realise how lucky I am.
