2600k Price

lol, Think some of you guys are on drugs :) If your lucky they will be £280. (That will prob be on the cheaper internet shops)

I think the Ks will be £320 on a good day.

Why do you think that? As far as I can see the only evidence we have is the £240 from another retailer. Why would OcUK charge 33% more?

It has Hyperthreading. Depending on what use you will put it to, it will offer greater performance. Not much everyday use software is coded to take advantage of it though.
it does not need specific instruction written into a programs code
This technology is transparent to operating systems and programs. The minimum that is required to take advantage of hyper-threading is symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) support in the operating system, as the logical processors appear as standard separate processors.

It's been a long while since I've paid attention to pricing. What kind of drop-off in price is there post-release normally? Will there even be one in this case say a month after?

On my phone atm so not going into great depth.
I'm not just saying that OC will be 33% more expensive than everyone else.
Just saying I think all the retailers will be charging like a wounded Rhino. Have to be honest though OC are always a few quid more than a lot of others.

We only have to wait a few more days and all will be answered :) I'm just saying I would bet the farm that you will not get a lot of change from 350 for the 2600k.
A 875k is over 200 so why would they sell the latest CPU for the same or less.

£280 still is not great for a 2600K overpriced. * Panic buyers *

It's relative though, how much would a 9** or 8** i7 be today if it was released today and is 3.8ghz straight out of the box? 6 months down the line they'll be cheaper, but they'll also be 6 months old.

will they be much cheaper though, just look at the i5/i7 that have been on sale for the last year;)

So the only difference for the P67 mobo is that is for those who already have a good dedicated GPU not to use the CPU-graphics? And what does the P/H stand for?

And besides the price, would we agree the best performing CPU is the 2600K for encoding/gaming purpose?
