Question about the misuse of drugs act.

you do amuse me rypt, your ability to miss the point I am making by a country mile is hysterical

1800 anal sex = illegal = bad
1900 anal sex = illegal = good (if you like that sort of thing)

how can that logic be flawed when its quite obviously 100% correct

Aah, I was wrong earlier - you've got a much bigger problem on your hands. You believe that Good = Right and Evil = Wrong, don't you? Your opinion on legal matters stems from this. Conjecture, but am I correct?

Anal sex in the Victorian era was not really accepted as "perfectly fine".

In fact it's not even accepted as perfectly fine now.

Opinions change. And something can be wrong simply because it's illegal. What's the problem with that?

But surely opinions change much faster than the legislation that reflects it, so for a period, people didn't consider it to be bad despite the fact the law was still in place?

Opinions change over a lot longer time than the reasonably instant change between illegal/legal (when the bill is ratified)

hehe whatever I have the flu and have little more to do

for the record im not crazy or moronic despite your insinuations to the contrary.

Right and wrong don't entirely depend on public opinion or the law. It's too abstract a concept for that.

I don't think you are any of the above, I'm just surprised by the rather simplistic terms you are using.

To be fair I was trying to engage in a tete a tete with rypt, do you not think anything else would have cruised over at 50,000ft ?

quite well done though, I found myself way off topic defending a stance I don't much care for

I know someone who has done a PhD on this topic that Will and co are arguing about, and I have done a class on the exact thing. There isn't a correct answer, but in today's age the majority of academics and legal professionals interested in this area would disagree with your view Will.

No charges follow and the Police Officer that confiscated the drugs may choose to dispose of them in a series of very small fires!

This.

Had a friend who was stopped with 1/4oz of weed, 2g of MDMA, and a bottle of ~100 drops of LSD.

The MDMA was 'undiagnosed', and the LSD was 'lost in testing'.

Still got done for the weed though. Still, I guess that's a better result than them not being corrupt :P

Well, where's the link to the thesis? :D
