Whats the best desktop cradle for the DHD?

That's amazingly cool! Would be perfect games for a touchscreen as well, the only problem I see is there not being a massive spacebar on the screen so you can pause!

Those emulated games are cool ... I'd fork out for a copy of something like C&C if someone adapted that ... or maybe a turn based game as thinking about it RTS games might be difficult to play!

Yeah, that's why the Infinity Engine games are perfect, you can pause any time so they're effectively turn-based

Your pictures are blocked at work so I can't see which one you got, but @ panthro - Mobile Fun have loads of cradles in stock. I'd personally buy one with a spare battery slot so they can just be swapped out when they run out of charge.

Don't know if they're actually any good but the Deluxe Charging Cradle looks pretty nice.

Has anyone got any experience of buying decent cheap third party batteries for their Desire HD or Z if they exist? If so where from?
I could do with a couple of spares.

I bought a 1600mAh battery for my DHD from the bay (200553126688) - no complaints with it at all.

Yup told me to do a hard reset to get it back to the factory settings. I've done that, it seemed to be going fine up until the point where I had to make a call, where it decided to reboot again. Since then it's restarted about 15 times in the last half hour, it seems to happen randomly, it can happen as early as the screen that is displayed after it loads - with the time on it that you drag down to unlock. I've replied on the support system online so I expect I'll get a reply some time tomorrow.

Back to my k800i for the time being

I've barely had the phone a month, I'm hoping I've just been unlucky with this and it can be sorted out.

It did start as one off restarts which I didn't worry too much about as I'd put it down to something I had done with the phone but it's reached the point where the phone is unusable now.

Can anyone recommend me a decent rubber case for the DHD? I got a cheap and nasty one from Ebay but it's just a lump of plastic and offers no real protection plus I can only press the power/volume buttons with my nails!

Also I've got a problem with my Facebook contacts, I don't want them synched and even though none are shown in people I still get them all listed when I go to select a recipient for a text. Anyone know how to get rid of this?

I got a rather nice one from the CPW which has two parts to it - an inner soft rubber bit and an outer harder plastic shell that clips over, for extra nice protection. It's £22 I think. I also have since decided I hate it and don't use it, but if a case is your bag, it's a pretty tidy one. Only drawback is it doesn't have any nice flap action to cover the jacks at the bottom, or anything.

Got my HD coming in the next couple of days or so, hope I don't get the same problem, seems to be quite common?

Interesting, I had taken my sim card out to use in an older phone, and left my DHD on, it was fine overnight for about 7 hours. I tried watching a video on iPlayer over WiFi and after about a minute it happened again. It seems to help but isn't the only cause. Thanks for the link.

I am hoping it's not too common and I've just been unlucky!

After update I have to drag down the task bar to get a txt message to clear if I just hit messages on Launcherpro the txt notification still stays there.....anyone else with this issue?

Yup, it's a known problem, I've experienced it with Sense and Launcher Pro.
Hopefully 2.3 will fix it.

This is really getting to me now, when i go to take a picture, the phone just turns off after the flash comes on, my battery's on 42% atm, anyone else had this?

The notification bug is really starting to get on my nerves now since the last update, I hope HTC release the new update soon!

Edit - last night after taking a photo, my DHD randomly restarted itself too - worrying!

Another update: I've got to give them a call now and book my phone in to a repair center as there is nothing else I can do.

Yup, that was how my problems started, I had assumed maybe the battery wasn't properly charged and the current drawn by the flash was dragging the battery voltage down causing it to die, but then it got worse and started dying when making calls, and is now pretty much unusable. A factory reset didn't help either

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, hopefully it's a different issue!
