Have you guys ever phoned in sick for no reason other than cba? I have that 24/48h bug so I phoned in sick, mainly just to be in for my parcel.

I've never really been in the position where I actually could afford to. Such is the beauty of poory paid employment. If I call in sick, it's because I am sick.

never!!!

why who's asking?!?

I had to phone in sick from Spain once as Inwas on a family holiday which they refused to give me the time off for, despite asking at least 5 months in advance :p
... Best illness I ever had!

Actually no I haven't ... we're fortunate that we can work from home if we need to so I just tell my team leader that I would like to work from home on whatever day as I'm awaiting a delivery.

Save my sick days for when I am healthy. But I really only use sick days for interviews for other jobs. Not usually sick enough, IMO, to warrant a day off work.

I used to. Worked 16 years for one company and had a great record when it came to not having time off sick. Towards the end of those 16 years i did pull quite a few sickies as they showed their true colours towards staff care etc. I thought why not! I eventually left to look after my new daughter.

Nope, I can work from home so no real need to, not that I ever would. Not really a fan of this sort of behaviour.....

Depends how your life is and how your company treats you and if you can change jobs etc etc.

Never - although not intending to a adopt a holier than thou attitude, I've only worked in positions where unprecedented sick days lead to a struggle for my colleagues, or required work will not get produced when promised thus causing greater problems than going to work in the first place.

Nonetheless, I absolutely detest the UK employer's commonplace attitude of going to work when you are genuinely ill! You are far better off taking the time off to rest/recover swiftly than struggle into work, risk colleague illness, working at sub-par standard and then taking twice as long to get better!
