just ordered this lot...

upgrade2.jpg

This is following my purchase last week of a GTX470.

I also got a nice new Lian Li case (PC-60FW)and a couple of solid state drives back in August (Patrial-PS100 & Crucial c300)which i hope will go togeather well.

Never had an Asus board before now, mostly been Leadtek (amd days..) or Gigabyte since i went Intel.

does anyone see me encountering any issues with the above? was it the right choice to go dual channel instead of triple channel for Sandybridge?

This is to replace my Q6600 and Gigabyte DS3R which i bought *shock* Oct 2007 .

Funny thing about most of this is that i'm doing it so i can give my mum a decent upgrade on her reaaaaaaaaaaaly old AMD XP unit which crashes with every attempt to play a video.

why do i pick late friday nights to buy stuff all the time :(

hmm i just thought, would the H-50 have been a better idea for the cooling.....but then another £20 when this is a stretch as it is..

Nice upgrade, I'm hoping to order something similar myself soon. Should give you a decent performance boost!

Zalman make good coolers, often gets overlooked, normally I recomend the Titan Fenrir Evo on here, similar price to that Zalman, prob cools slightly better but little noisier, at a guess
I dont think theres much point spending more than about £30 on a cooler personally, I think thats about the sweet spot in terms of price/performance for coolers, yeah you get better cooler but is it worth paying dbl or even more for another 10% performance? Not IMO
