that loved and believed in his nation's people as much as Hitler did? Has any politician been loved by their populace so much?

Listen to the words in this speech, you can feel the passion when he says he is not there to lie and decieve them, you can feel the passion when he talks about Germany's path out of recession being from the peoples' hearts and the peoples' will, and when he asks the German people for 4 years to turn things around.

Whatever you say about Hitler, at least he was brutally honest with his views and loved his people more than anything.

If our politicians showed even half his passion for our nation and were honest, things would be a lot better.

I love Hitler as much as the next man but no...

"Whatever you say about Hitler, at least he was brutally honest with his views and loved his people more than anything."

My god man on so many levels this has to be a wind up...

Why would it be a wind up? He quite evidently was in love with his German people?

Adolf Hitler was indeed a brilliant orator. His entire ideology was based around a romanticised notion of the German people, whereby the nation itself was defined as the Volk. And large numbers of the populace did truly venerate him. A common feature of German life under Nazism would be to express dissatisfaction with workings of the regime while still worshipping the fuhrer himself. However, to say Hitler was "brutally honest" with his views is pretty stupid. The Nazi government created and ran a highly sophisticated and constant propaganda machine, suppressed anything which could challenge its legitimacy and enacted programmes of industrialised mass murder, not just against the Jews but against numerous elements of society seen to be undesirable.

The same German people that he was utterly willing to sacrifice their lives and infrastructure at the drop of a hat at the end of the war?
I cant remember who disobeyed the order to do it, was it Speer ? but destroying all of Germany's agricultural equipment and factories does not show "love of his people" its 2nd hand murder.

HE knew he was defeated and rather than face that fact he was beaten by "sub-humans" he expected Germans to commit suicide and throw their lives away because they were proven inferior. I read a rumour he ordered the flooding of civilian bomb shelters towards the end too. May or may not be true but.. that is not a man that loves his people. That is a Lunatic.

Sure he was a drug fuelled nightmare in the last weeks, maybe at the start his nationalistic ideals where justifiable, but he surrounded himself with sycophantic freaks and the rest is History.

Ja, mein Fuhrer ist Got.

Es ist zei fur Reich!

Intense nationalism isn't a good thing...it has a whole 'I'm/we're better than you' aura about it that gets me...

Also remember that the victors rewrite history. In these speeches he shows nothing of the crazy evil maniac he is portrayed as. Rather, he shows all the passion and patriotism and love for his people which I think everyone in this country would wish our great Blair, Brown, Clegg and Cameron would show even just 5% of.

Also its a bit hypocritical to claim that German people were proven 'inferior', because they lost a war fighting the entire world. Especially now that even after been utterly torn apart they are still by far the main economic power in Europe.

Also it is quite well known that Hitler never wanted a world war. He certainly never ever wanted to go to war with Britain.

Who wanted to take over the world including 'England' and make them wear Lederhosen.
Nah, not for me.
I find that Lederhosen are a bit cold in the winter!
Does anyone know when next seasons footie fixtures are out?
