Has there ever been a politician...

I can see what the OP means. All the people who think Hitler was a genocidal maniac are actually part of the Jewish-orchestrated conspiracy to blacken Hitler's name. The holocaust never happened, it was in fact a Jewish uprising over a shortage of bagels. The gas chambers were actually bagel bakeries where the Jews decided to commit mass suicide when the imports of yeasted wheat dried up. The videos you see on the internet of him promoting the extermination of the Jews is actually deliberately mistranslated propaganda from the scoundrels at JewTube.

Is that about right OP?

What Holocaust?

He did do some bad things, but by far the worst... was taking that moustache away from the general public.

You've been reading too many "facts" on white nationalist websites.

I agree, our politicians should show enthusiasm and passion, but using Adolf Hitler to make the point is where it all goes wrong.
I'm not heavily clued up on details in history but I believe the Autobahn was an invention of his or at least his party, as well as Hitler working with Ferdinand Porsche to design the Volkswagen, so there was some tiny bits of good to come from stuff like this but ultimately he was a delusional dictator, and a cold blooded mass murderer. I've seen Der Untergäng so I have some idea I guess :p

As for modern day politicians showing enthusiasm and passion, take a look at Nigel Farage.

We need more straight shooters like Farage in power!

No, I asked whether there has been another politician that loved his people as much as Hitler? I don't think there has, can you say that any front line politician in this country in the past 10 years has displayed the affection Hitler did for his nation's people?

I dont read 'White Nationalist' websites.

I voted for UKIP.

Would our politicians have to stand on a podium, in front of thousands of people, and start screaming like maniacs to convince you of their love for the country?

Think of two parents... one who every day tells their child they love them, and another who doesn't actually say it... does one parent love the kid more than the other? :s
Hitler doesn't tell his audience that he 'loves them' in this speech does he. Although it is quite blatently evident in his manner and what he is saying that he does.

Since I know less than 0.1% of the politicians there have ever been there is no way I can answer.

As has been said, Hitler wanted his own people to be wiped out once the **** hit the fan. That's the kind of affection I'd rather do without thank you.

Loved his people? He wasnt even german, an austrian who introduced slavery to germany, and like any other dictator he used his power to control the people, supposedly a civilised country, the germans went on to commit some of the most heinous crimes in human history, albeit they had support from colaborators in the countries that they occupied, even in the last days of the war, the waffen ss troops defending the bunker were french and swedish volunteers, all the german waffen ss units such as liebestandarte and das reich had headed west to surrender to the yanks and brits, so as to avoid the russians.

Yeah that's true. My grandad was in the Waffen SS as a Latvian. He went straight to England the second the war was over.

Anyway you have gotta admit, Hitler really did have the most incredible amounts of power. No weak person would ever be able to accomplish that. No doubt he was a very strong minded, enthusiast and passionate person, as that is how he got to where he did.

Just looking at the streets of Germany with marching soldiers and the symbol of the Swastika on every flag. It's really something spectacular to see.

The thing is, I don't think there will ever be anyone with such great deal of power and control, that does not end up going off the rails and going bonkers. Just look at North Korea now, and the dictatorship of Kim-Jong-Il. I still think at some point, some country in Asia is going to get nuked. Whether the NKs do it, or it happens to them. At the very least, some rather sizable bombs being thrown about.

There now, the same sort of situations like in the photos above, but in modern day life.
We can see now, it just does not work.

Granted I am not severely clued up on North Korea, and of course they really do not live life like it was in The Third Reich, and there isn't mass slaughtering of Jews etc, but from what I read about NK people in general do not seem to live very happy lives.

Anyway this is going a bit off the rails now, tl;dr. Yes we need more enthusiastic politicians like Nigel Farage, no we never want that enthusiasm to lead to dictatorship like with Adolf Hitler.

Please don't hotlink

Does Mugabe love his people?
More or less what Hitler did without invading his African neighbours!!
Look what has happened in that country!!
The place is a mess!!

What does Mugabe have to do with this? They are both quite different...

Look what happened between 1933 and 1939 if you use that logic and comparison then...

Hitler and the nazis were bad, but even they pale into insignifigance when compared to josef stalin, killed 30 million of his own people in various purges, such was the paranoia and fear that came with communism, supposedly a system of equality, more like the ultimate form of keeping the poor people down, you never seen the politburo members queing for a loaf of bread. Politicians can say what they like about theyre particular ideology, at the end of the day human nature will always win, greed being a great example, policys will go out the window, after all it's basic human nature, survival of the fittest/most powerful.

You need to read between the lines. As summarised in the same link I used:

Hitler justified this step as a military necessity, but his intention was to destroy the German population as punishment for its defeat.

No doubt you will disagree of course. :)
