How can you argue that Hitler loved his people, when (as already mentioned) he slaughtered anyone who didn't fit in to his blonde hair, blue eyes Hitler youth?
Not to mention the Jews. What ever happened to those pesky Jews?
The OP has already said that Jews weren't German. I never realized this and after having spent all my life despising the Nazis for what what they did, I am now in awe of them because the Jews living in Germany weren't German.

A quick google tells me TIME's man of the year award basically went to the person who made the most effect on the news and history, for better or worse. Pretty sure he'd be in the "worse" category.
They generally stopped doing it after being criticized in the 70s, or Osama Bin Laden would have been the 2001 winner and Hitler would have "won" the man of the century! (Einstein was the actual winner)

You could argue Obama should as much love to his people. After all, when elected, he came across as incredibly passionate and thousands attended his speeches. Also, he's a much better role model than Hitler.
