I'm trying to decide which board i should get.

On the one hand, ROG boards are really nice but im wondering if its worth it for the extra money + wait. It seems these days that the motherboard isnt really affecting overclocks as much as it always used to. The only major things i can see thats different is the Maximus has apparently more overclocking stuff, more USB 3 ports ( i dont even own usb 3 devices yet) and some fancy sli chip giving more bandwidth (not sure if the p8P76 has it tho).

I can get hold of the P8P67 for around £170 and the Maximus for £270 (but have to wait until 17th for stock). Before anyone asks, thats not from a retailer so dont ask for where to buy them.

Any advice?

Rest of spec will be 2600K Overclocked, 8GB Ram, 6950 unlocked to 6970 going in an 800D with watercooling

I am in the middle of considering exactly this too.

I think the Maximus supports UEFI though, so I am leaning towards that.

Maximus IV doesn't have any PCI slots, and I've heard murmurs about the NF200 chip and "Quick Link" or something. Either way, not totally confident in buying one myself atm. :(

I too am asking my self this question. Is it worth almost double the price compared to the Delux?

The things for me is providing I can get a decent OC out of the Delux ill be happpy. The one good thing about the Delux is it allows me to use my Xfi Fat1lty which would not fit in the Rog.

But I also would like a board which wont need changing for some time. With the ROG including lots of USB 3 and all PCI-e slots it seems just like that.

Im too wondering if I should go for the Asus P8P67 deluxe or Max IV

Is the price worth it for 6x USB3.0 on Deluxe and 10x on MAX IV this includes the headers

Jedeye rings a bell, Hugo? :D

I went with the Asus P8P67 Pro but may change that at a later date when the Z type boards come out so didn't look in to it hugely. The Asus board is good but the BIOS seems a bit flaky at the moment, I'm sure they'll release a really solid bios firmware soon in which case it will be an excellent mobo (not sure what the bios is like on the Deluxe but suspect it will basically be the same). Overclocking in windows makes things really easy. I'm currently running my 2600K at 4.2 Ghz on stock volts but will ramp that up in a few days.
