Anybody know of any Virgin Media retention offers?

I am after a Virgin V + box for my mother in a bid to drag her into this century and have been quoted £28 for phone, V+ and 2Mbit broadband. We were also quoted £30 for the install.

Now the £28 sounds pretty good but £30 for installation after she has been a customer since the year dot sounds a little unfair. Has anybody recently got any nice retention offers from them or is this about as good as it's going to get?

Did you challenge it? Ask them to waive it, state sky are offering free installation if needed. If you haven't been put on hold, form them to request permission from a manager you haven't pushed hard enough.

Still no luck in getting the charge for the box waived, they wouldn't budge from £30 although installation was free. Will maybe email the chairmans office, that normally gets results.

It's a one off charge of £30 that everyone has to pay, if you can't afford it don't get it, simple

That they ask ever one to pay, no one ever pays it if they dont want to.
