No I'm not really looking at a property, just in a spot of intrigue I came across this apartment in the Beetham Tower in Manchester centre.

2 Bedrooms it states, living room and kitchen available for £499,950

Half a million pounds for a 2 bedroom flat, in Manchester?

Is the only selling point and reason for that price because its on the 46th Floor?

Would you even consider it if you had money to burn and a need to live in the city centre?

Also further investigation revealled this gem, again in the same tower:

I'm from Manchester, I like it, I'd actually love to live in the city centre but if I had the money for either of these properties would I really hand over that amount of cash for a property just because its high up? would you?

Have you *seen* Beetham Tower?

If you earnt £250,000+ a year, you wouldn't think £499,950 was expensive.

Incidently, I've been in a few apartments there (vsiting). Horribly uncomfortable and loud when windy.

That's what I thought too since I read donkeys ago that he had bought 2 and linked them together!

True, if you earn that amount of money you probably wouldn't see it as an issue, but it was just startling thats all, I guess thats because if I was given 500k I would probably buy 2 maybe even 3 properties for that amount of money, but I guess its all relative my dear Watson.

Blimey. as nice as that kitchen looks, you would have to pay me £4m to live there, i wouldnt be able to walk, through fear, on the window side of that central table bit.:D

£500K won't buy you much in central London! Not unless you want to be stuck in one of those new shoebox developments next to the railway lines, next to the river. All the disadvantages of living next to a smelly river and a nice railway view from the balcony :D
