Annoys me too, had a guy quit at half time because I was beating him 4-1. Could tell he was beginning to lose it as he kept hacking me down and had 2 players sent off just before half time.

I don't play FIFA, but have they still not sorted this??
I remember reading threads like this on here years ago. Why can't they introduce an automatic lose 3-nil if you quit. Seems simple to me.

LOL. Well this is a first. I had a guy quit and then he sent me a msg saying why he quit. He said "Sorry, you're too bad at this game."

You do get a loss against your name, but even so it's still very annoying not being able to complete a game. I find it even worse on unranked games.
Rage quits are going to be in any game, a 1 vs 1 game is always going to suffer worse though.
They should do three strikes a day rule though or something similar, if you quit three times in a day you get 24 hour ban from playing online on FIFA.

They already do but it's obviously not enough of a deterrent. I think the only way to do it is incremental bans for each disconnection in a 24 hour period e.g.
1st disconnect: 30 minute ban
2nd disconnect: 1 hour ban
3rd disconnect: 12 hour ban
The fact is though, EA clearly don't care about people disconnecting. It's likely to be casual gamers (e.g. morons
) that disconnect all the time and they're the ones that send FIFA to the top of the charts every time it's released. Seems fair. I know they'll ban you from Halo Reach for too much quitting.

The 1st five games I played the other person quit!
They didn't the next 3 but only because I was losing lol.
It's very annoying though. Is there a time limit on when they can quit without being penalised or you being awarded the win?

I think it's 5 (in game) minutes and you can quit without getting a loss. But I've had the same experience as many on here. I don't think I've completed a match out of the 10 or so ranked matches I've played. I'll keep playing to rank up and as the people above say - fewer quitters.

i played a few decent matches yesterday. I won the first 2-1, then the guy didnt want a rematch. I played the next guy who i beat 1-0, he decided to rematch and I destroyed him 7-1 with the same teams and he never quit.
I also like to watch my goals which aren't cut backs, i know some people can find this annoying, but usually my goals are pretty good. Top corner from outside the box, or a free kick. Or skinning players, quality passes and stuff.

The best I've had is a couple of days ago, playing a league game vs someone, cue me whipping them, and them disconnecting after 70 mins when its 3-1 to me, and then them quitting the league because they 'cant take the AI helping the weaker player' 
Just playing devils advocate here but why not quit?
Loosing a game with 10 mins to go or whatever, not having fun - why not quit and start a new game?
People are saying "it's just a game, why quit?!" and I'm thinking "it's just a game, why not quit and have fun somewhere else?".

I can understand that angle but
a) Losing is part of any game
b) Games are only ten minutes so you're hardly wasting your life
c) Some people quit when only one or two goals down and the game is still up for grabs

Beat Chelsea 7-1 the other night. 5 goals by Berbagod in the first half. Surprised he didn't leave. I sent him msg saying thanks for not rage quitting.
This was after he beat me 3-0 with Chelsea by the way. I think I was able to thrash him by changing my formation. As soon as I went 4-1-2-1-2, everyting seemed to work perfect. He beat me 3-0 when I did 4-4-2.
I think the team I struggle against the most is either Inter Milan or AC Milan. I seem to be able to cope with Barca and Real pretty good now.

I don't have a problem who ragequit in team games (e.g. Left 4 Dead), especially as it's commonplace for opposing teams to pubstomp (all mates on voice comms vs random people) anyway. It's not much fun trying to drag a weaker team up by its bootstraps to beat a team who set out to pubstomp in the first place.Just playing devils advocate here but why not quit?

A 1v1 football game though - unless it's a draw then someone is always going to be on the losing side.
