I'll be attending a food hygiene course in a few weeks time. It's a 6 hour seminar/workshop followed by an exam. I'm not really sure what to expect. Has anyone here been on one of these courses?

Aye the basic food hygiene course is as simple as it gets. To fail it you'd have to be the sort of person who couldn't use a computer or even breathe unassisted for that matter.

You've passed already.

They'll likely talk to you mostly about food storage and the min and max temps for that. A bit about hand washing and stuff. The temp food need to reach to kill stuff off. It isn't too complex anyway. The 'exam' is just a multiple choice one, you'd need to try to fail. Well assuming this is a food hygiene certificate like you seen in restaurants walls.

I did the basic food hygiene course by mistake as Id been asked to rebrand the online course but hadnt been given the right user account so the only way I could go through and have a look at it was to do the course.

I passed, no reading of the course is required, just go straight to the exam!

^ this pretty much. It is really easy although when I took the course we were told that quite a few people do fail because they forget to think of the situations occurring in a work environment so they tick the answers that would be fine if you were dealing with it in your own home.

Yes I've done my intermediate food hygiene course I take it yours is the basic course? which is really easy.
I assume it's the basic course, I've not really been told much about it. Glad to hear it's easy.

Having been on a few health and safety courses in the past I thought this might be the case but didn't want to take it for granted and **** it up.

Thanks for all the replies (except the first two, you guys suck :p)
