If any one has played batman arkham asylum, there is a point I think about 35% in to the game where the Scare Crow dude attacks you (again) with his Nightmare drug.

This time around my screen suddenly looked like it went corrupted with vertical lines and garbled colours etc....

I thought oh oh! My overclock on my cpu has finaly frazled or my gpu has just blown etc........:mad:

A few seconds later the nightmare (batmans nightmare not mine!) continued. Few :p

Was just picturing the devs chuckling to them selves when they created that the buggers!

Good game tho if any one hasnt played it.

Yeah not the only one caught out by that, I was reaching for the power button when it cleared... not really a good idea imo as some people might have hit the power switch losing data or corrupting a drive, etc.

I haven't played it, but that sounds hilarious lol they might as well have thrown in a bsod screen in the game as well ;)

LOOOL yes it got me too did that part :D... It's a great game, anyone that has not played it and wondering what to play, give it a go... Just remember don't panic at that part.

When I got to this point, I had two graphics cards go bust within the last month. So when this happened I was thinking "ohh ****!"

I was really worried after that thinking my card was on it's way out again.

Cleeecooo do us all a favour mate and RMA that GPU you have and then ask them to test it.. You seem to have a lot of problems with computers from what I have noticed on these forums and not once do you listen to people trying to help you the correct way to resolve your problems.. I also read on the hard disk forums of OCUk you even managed to damage your parents PC and wondering how to get a RAID array working again on a different motherboard... People answered you there correctly and on every matter regarding your GPU too.. but you still don't actually listen to any of the advice and keep opening many threads on the same topic or hijacking threads to keep bringing up the same issue.

I would send your whole system in to OCuk and get them to troubleshoot it.. because I now honestly feel and so do others on here that you don't understand computers and how they work from hardware to software.

Sorry i'm not trying to be rude to you, but only way I see you will sort your problems out and to save yourself all the headaches is to send it to people that know how to setup and make a computer work correctly. I advise you in the future to not build a system but to buy one ready built and not to fiddle with it once you get it.

Same here, I thought something major had gone wrong

I remember something similer happened in an old gamecube game called eternal darkness, sanitys requiem, loads of freaky stuff happened in that game.

Arkham Asylum is brilliant though, can't wait for the nest one;)

Oooo harsh

You would be suprised how nice I was considering what he's been doing on the forums, check his posts. I lost count how many times we all tried to help him...

I think someone should have purchased a speak & spell...

Even an X-box or PS3 would be a deadly weapon in his hands I feel.

I lost a day playing due to that. My power switch is in easy reach, and I turned my machine off several times. I finally realised what was going on when I decided to see if I could get back into Windows to see if any error messages had been dumped on the desktop. While I was looking, I heard the cutscene that follows start up in the background and finally twigged what was going on.

Possibly the only example of a game pwning me actually outside of the game.

They nailed the corruption and looping sound though. Utterly convincing.

I'd completely forgotten the game did that! I haven't played it in months and started playing it again today (in Eyefinity this time) - thanks for reminding me about this scene, you've just saved me having to burn a pair of pants and replace with new when I hit that bit. :)

I bought the game GOTY version off Steam when it was on holiday offer for just £3.75 :D Still haven't got round to play it though...probably will try to complete the single player of BFBC2 first.

Wonder if I should put my 9800GTX+ back in and use the PhysX hax when I eventually get round to play the game...:p
