The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Looking to get back into Eve after a few years away. Im after an easy going Corp and the OcUK Corp might fit the bill?

I have been playing eve on and off since the start. At the peak of my Eveing I had 3 accounts. I'm now down to 1. My main is a Caldari with about 30 million SP. Plenty of equipment and ships, nighthawk, raven, raptor ..... Never pirated with any of my Chars and spent a fair time in the FA in 0.0, good times. In recent years when I have played I spent most of my time running lvl 4 missions.

I don't have loads of free time due to work but might be able to free up 2-3 hrs every other night.

Would you guys be interested?
 
Anyone else having issues with the website atm
trying to reset my passwords so I can re-activate but it's just timing out 90% of the time!

2-3 hrs every other night is good but if you get into a 0.0 Corp some Operations can go on for 3-8 hours.
That does not stop people logging mid OP but that can leave them logged off in a hostile system.

Yes, been there done that. Realistically the time I have free will limit my involvement, hence running missions and eventually getting bored. On reflection I'll leave it until I have more free time.

Delayed reply but looking at your post, 2-3 hours online after work is pretty much what we spend too. And since we don't live in nullsec you can go back to base mid op at anytime.

There's no "you must be on at this time for ops" we tend to run ops with who we've got, you just make less money if you're not here, otherwise no real times are set unless we're doing a group nullsec roam in which you don't have to attend anyway.

Anyhow, give it a thought, if you want to know more, come into the ocuk channel and find us.
 
Might rejoin you guys if at all possible in the near future? Not played properly for a while, just been lone wolfing it in low sec exploration sites for a while.

Got 2 characters, one maxed prober/PI/freighter and my main, maxed tech 2 ships and battleships and leadership.

Quick Q though, how do you find your way back to your wormhole system? If you leave to sell something in Empire, how do you get back? there are hundreds upon hundreds of WH systems, I've never been in one yet so not sure how they work :)

Lots of scanning! Wormholes always have a fixed exit type.
We used to live in a C3 which had a static U210 wormhole, this meant that we would always have an exit into lowsec somewhere, this would expire every 24 hours unless was closed by the amount of ships going through it.

As you go up in wormhole classes they tend to have higher exits, ie a C6 might have a static C4, and in that C4 it might have a static C3. Once in the C3 you will likely have an empire exit to either Null, Low sec or High sec.

Can the exits be anywhere in the universe then? e.g. if it's in Nullsec it could be out in alliance controlled space somewhere?
 
Yeh potentially. It varies system to system.
The majority of systems I've been in will either have a wormhole that goes into high or lowsec somewhere, or another wormhole that does have.

I've played Eve on and of for about 24months but have not played it properly in 12months.

I seem to remember I trained up to a good frigate but could not go any further as did not know how to progress further.

Over Xmas I was thinking of resubbing with a completely fresh charchter.

What's the cheapest method to join again/game card?

Any advice once I'm trained up on what direction to go in. I like to be a good guy and have big ships!

Probably easiest to just resub through the Eve Online site I think. They recently (might still be going) had a deal where you could resub for free for 5 days. I done that and then got 2 months for 19.95 (euro).

Is your char name deadvader or am i thinking of someone else? If you used to be with us before i don't see why you can't rejoin. Pop into the ocuk channel for a chat.
 
Went and resubbed for 60 days. I know I'll think in a weeks time that was £23 of beer money lol!

Will be joining in the fun as of tomorrow :)
 
I want to buy some new games that have come out but then I feel as though I can't sacrifice my time on another game! Just watch out that you don't accumulate too many accounts!
 
Once ive completed training what do people recommend I do then?

Do i join the ocuk fleet - how?

Also with incursion coming up, what will that mean? is it worth waiting to start a new character till then?
 
Just done a couple of rubbish agent missions. 55k ISK reward for half an hour! :( Sometimes this game is a real grind... Why do I keep coming back every couple of years?!
 
If you want a bit of ISK, join a wormhole corp. We run C4 sites and with 2 of us in tengu's we make collectively around 350-400m/hour excluding salvage time.
