A dual Barts card would be a killer for Nvidia I think (and the 6970, which well has been a dodo ever since it was released).

I'd assume it would be 2x underclocked 6970 cores.

WRONG.5970 was two 5870's with 3200 SP but cores at 5850 clock speed

Two 570s? Im oretty sure that would atleast equalise due to scaling issues. If two 6950s are used can we flash the to 6970s. Lol.

will be interesting too see the new 6950/6970 1gig cards due in 3 weeks time also... hopefully price is cut drasticly and performance doesnt suffer ? but will see !
