Hi ive got my i7 clocked to 4.2ghz at 1.25v and my ram is gskill trident at 2000mhz 1.65v i used the x.m.p. memory profile for the ram and it says the qpi voltage is only 1.125v, but i mean surely this is tooo low. Anyway i can check this ive got an x58a-ud7 mobo so theres no v check points :(

Help plz :)

The voltage difference is 0.525 between your QPI and DDR voltage, either set the RAM voltage lower or the QPI higher. You're over the 0.5 difference and could possibly damage the cpu. Are you prime/ibt stable at that QPI? if so then QPI at 1.2v just to even out the difference to 0.45v should be good.

It seems unlikely that it would be stable at such a low qpi. I suggest setting it manually, if only to check that it really is stable when that low.

The above point stands, im just a bit skeptical regarding the reported voltage. I'd expect automatic settings to overvolt the qpi.

I'd also say that QPI voltage looks very low for 200bclk (assuming your 200x21)
On virtually the same spec I'm running 1.32V QPI (i think this may be a tad high, but its stable), with 1.22vcore and 1.66V on the Mem

the xmp profile couldnt have been running at 1.125 qpi, i set it manually and couldnt even boot into windows until i set the qpi voltage at 1.49. I know intel say you should only go to 1.35v with the qpi but is this really the case, what effect will it have for 24/7??
