But I was driving and couldn't photo it
Was driving to pick my son up from nursery, and in the sky I saw at least 10,000+ small birds all flying in a swarm. Was very cool as they were all changing direction within the swarm.
Was like a huge black cloud moving very fast across the sky
No photo tho sorry

I remember watching something on TV (think it was a BBC documentary) about swarms and there was some European city where they had people employed to go round and spook huge numbers of swarming birds because they were ****ting over everything.

I saw this not to long ago. Couldn't believe what I was seeing. I got the binoculars out and then saw thousands more. It was crazy.

We get large swarms of Starlings flying over Aylesbury town centre at the same time every year. Incredible to watch and provides some entertainment when stuck in rush hour traffic - they like to swarm just before sunset.

There was an item in the local paper a few years ago with lots of local residents, who live directly underneath the displays, calling for them to be shot! Apparently vast amounts of bird poo gets carpet bombed on their property :D

Used to have Starlings flying over the river in Belfast when I was younger. Doesn't seem to happen anymore.

I also saw a swarm of birds in Botswana that were flying together but one side of them had silver looking feathers and it looked like a bunch of fish flying in the air.

I remember seeing that too. Didn't they have some kind of massive air horn to move them basically from tree to tree? Brussels springs to mind.

Filmed a huge flock over the edge of RAF Brize Norton a couple of weeks back. Was amazing to watch as they were almost completely silent. You mostly see it late afternoon/early evening as they are preparing to roost. I believe it is their way of confusing predators as they prepare to land.

Don't think they were stationed at Brize though ;)
