a friend of mine is going back home to usa in april and asked is there anything i would like.

my brain was thinking hmmm new sandybridge wouldnt be a bad idea !!

usa prices compared to uk prices are about £100 cheaper.

but is it worth buying from usa?

Remember youll get stung with higher postage and import duty.

Also some manufactures dont accept warranties from different countries.

Not worth it in my view.

no higher postage/import duty as it will be brought in suit case !!! shhh

only thing like others are saying is warranties.

when i came back from taiwan i had in my case nun-chucks, throwing knifes, throwing stars and about 10,000 ciggys !!

not even a blink of an eye lid.

my friend has just got back last week and brought back a few hard drives and motor bikes parts!

I buy things that are difficult to obtain, recently a thermalright bracket, but usually nothing that might go pop or is worth more than £100 if it does. I sell a bit into the states and elsewhere. Many companies will sell items as samples which are usually exempt or low duty. Its like telling paypal its a gift when it is trade. As I have talktalk, I get free international calls at any time which is useful for checking on stuff.
