Got an "offer I couldnt refuse" on one.. SO changing over from 470's to 1 480..

Currently running heaven @ 875mhz core.. Temps not over 70....

No adjustments made to volts.. What have people topped out of on these and what sort of return do you get for extra volts?

How is that looking scorewise for a GTX480 chaps?

875 is all you need TBH, it's a great overclock. The card you have could possibly do 900 core and maybe a little bit more, at them speeds I would just use for benchmark runs, 24/7 clocks 875 is enough.

Are those temps on stock cooling, would have expected higher temps.:)

Cheers guys, really want 900 though :) as its an MSI card im not getting an actual readout just a + xxx MV... What would be the safe extra to put through this card 100ma?

Yeah, on my other cards it says the actual volts, on the MSI, it seems to have opened up a load of new features and just has a slider with 0 as the default then you add or subtract.

Even with + 100ma it wont do 900 though... Seems like the extra volts dont help it much..

I'd have stuck with the 470 SLI. Why did you change if you don't mind me asking?.

470s are very powerful from what I've seen from Rroff and a few other members here at OCUK.

This is overclocked at 950Mhz/1400Mhz. (6950 flashed)

I know the GTX 480 is the better card, I'm just comparing a benchmark (my max res on ATI, I can get my 1920x1440 with Nvidia, that's CRT gaming ancient screens for ya :D.)

Good overclock :).

basically. Someone wanted to buy one of my SOCs off me and gave me £215 which I thought was a good price, and someone else sold me a brand new unused lightning for 290.. So it seemed like a good deal... I still have 1 now that I can either put in my LAN rig of flog for circa 200 and have an extra 100 quid in my pocket...

The lightning just looks amazing....

Edit just gutted i cannot hit 900 :)

OK this is really weird.... It wont do 900.. Keeps crashing.. But 901 is not a problem..

Ill rebench @ 900 Mhz

Also roly, ive turned on votls monitoring.. Its sucking 1.143 and thats +82

Is that decent?

ill rebench at 1900 x 1080 as that seems to be what most people go for...

Yeah it is a great deal TBH. Nice one ;).

Could you post a picture of your rig?. In fact, I'll just have a look on Google and save you the hassle.

That's crazy . Higher number should mean less stability but that's the way hardware goes sometimes.

Raven's the best guy to ask about the 480 mate, on my 470 I've only gone to 1075mv.:)

Aye, Raven knows about this card pretty well.

Will take some piccys tonight matey and upload... It looks really cool.....

Freaks you out a bit with the whole 3 PCIE connections going into it.. Ive always liked to have a slightly unique rig though and this certainly gives you that.....

I wonder if anyone is running 2 in SLI?!

BTW clocked down to 875.... The volts to get 900 get the fan going.. If i stick at 875 its basically silent.

Nice one, I'll be looking forward to seeing them mate :), especially the 3 connections lol as I've never heard of it.

I'd stick with the 875Mhz until you find the want to tinker again. Gaming is better than tinkering :D.

I really like your rig and the layout. Looks sleek. 3 PCI-E power connectors looks crazy in one card. You should mess with some people and say you were trying to break a world record :D.
