Church changes mind, will not picket funeral of 9 year old girl

Well, having initially claimed that God sent the shooter who gunned down six people in Arizona on Saturday, Westboro Baptist Church has now changed its stance. Whilst I let that sink in for you, let's just have a quick look at some of the positive messages from this Church to come out of this tragic event :

Westboro Baptist Church said:
Your federal judge is dead and your (fag-promoting, baby-killing, proud-sinner) Congresswoman fights for her life. God is avenging Himself on this rebellious house! WBC prays for your destruction--more shooters, more dead carcasses piling up, young, old, leader and commoner--all. Your doom is upon you!

Good stuff, eh?

However, although they still plan to go ahead with their demonstrations at the funeral service for a slain US District Judge, they have decided not to go ahead with plans to picket the funeral of 9 year old victim Christina Taylor Green.

So, they're not so bad after all? Well, it's not that straight forward. The reason they're not picketing a dead 9 year old's funeral is because they've been promised air time by two radio stations in exchange for not going ahead with their plan.

What sickens me most isn't the religious element to this story - although it is disgusting, immoral and repugnant - but the human element. What kind of person thinks that picketing the funeral of anyone, let alone a 9 year old girl, is anything other than utterly reprehensible? It just blows my mind.

With all due respect, it's not news. We all know of the church, and we all think they're scum. Not a one of us has anything good to say about them. They do it for the publicity so the best thing to do is ignore what they do, don't do a Daily Mail "BAN THIS" or react in any way. Just keep calm and carry on.

Nope, in the documentary it was the unbelievers punishing them for speaking the truth yet soldiers deaths where gods punishment.

The Church isn't even really a Church.

There is an article from a Journalist from several years ago (IIRC when they were first starting out), pointing out that it looks to be more a family of legal conmen/scammers - apparently they are almost all lawyers, and all seem rather to "self controlled" in what they say or do to be real, especially as they go and sue anyone and everyone who reacts to what they do or any official attempt to stop them.

IIRC there are several organisations including a major collective of bikers (and ex military) who make it their job to peacefully counter protest by screening the cemeteries etc with US flags and the like when these idiots are in town near them (I think the bikers started out as an informal honour guard for military funerals and it expanded).
