I'm asking because I imagine you don't make a trip to the dump just to dispose of an old telephone for example, I have an old cordless phone and a few other things lying around, broken gpu, an old HDD etc, they are starting to bug me as I only live in a small place, I'm temped to chuck them in with the regular trash but feel a bit guilty, what do you guys do?

This probably sounds over the top, but I have a plastic box in the garage that I dump electricals and engine oil and other liquids that can't go down the drain, then once in a while I take it to the dump.

In all honesty, would go to the dump as it's literally a 5-10 minute drive. Usually have other stuff to chuck out too though.

Chuck them in the regular trash unless they might be of use to someone else. Big stuff that no-on else might have a use for I take them to the skip and the bloke there helps me sort it.

We have a black coloured container/box thing that we can put glass into for recycling which gets picked up once a fortnight by the local authority. It can also be used to put electrical goods in for recycling.

I have an old generic PSU lying around that I really should take to the dump. I've never seen anything even remotely similar there though. TVs and stuff are there occasionally, but never anything PC related.

Straight in the wheely bin.

Or if it's too big for the wheely bin, smash it up until it isn't.
Then feed it to the bin over a few collections :)

To the local recycling centre. If you have a recycling box, bung it in there. If not, find someone who goes to the tip. Check your local council for the nearest WEE sites. There may be one closer to you!

Large things ... then wait to the parents are visiting and then take to the dump. Small things go in the bin ... if I wanted to take them and dispose of them properly then it would involve about an hour on three buses plus a couple of miles walk and I'm sorry but I'm not doing that.

edit: we don't have recycling boxes for bottles/tins/plastic or even garden waste bins ... and I don't mean that we don't bother to have one, I mean there aren't even any collections for any of those things in my area.

Bin. Speaking of which, if a dog died would you put it in the bin? I think you'd be alright with a Yorshire Terrier but something like a Labrador might be pushing it.

I build torture devices & booby traps out of everything, Doesn't everybody ?
