Fun summer car!

I know its early to be thinking about this but summery cars are cheaper at this time of the year..
I want a 2nd car for the summer, 3k tops, doesn't have to be mega power just a bit of fun. it'd be nice if it was a convertible too.

so suggestions please!

I preferred the 1.8 over the 1.6 so I bought a 1.8 MK1 MX-5

. If you're going to get one check thoroughly for rust around the sills and wheel arches, very common problem.

Before you go out rushing to buy a MK1 one remember that MK2s are easily in budget.. Slightly softer but easier to live with everyday, and less potential for "old car" problems (mainly rot).

Mk2s are rotting like pears too.

The newest MX-5 in budget will be around a decade old so rust will almost certainly be a factor.

Budget £300 for a good job and live with it.

I have a Mk2 its been excellent. We have a hardtop for it in the winter too. Its fun but a little easier to live with than a MK1. Coincidently its for sale for very close to £3k

try harder Im 6' 5" and owned a mk1 mx5 for nearly 4 years.

Odd how I know plenty of taller people that easily fit.
