Man nicked for throwing snowball at police

The kind of guy who throws a snowball at police (take THAT authority) is probably guilty of other stuff, or at the very least for being a tool.

While it might sound silly I guess it depends on what they believe his intent. A nice soft lob isnt going to cause any harm but if it was an aggressive throw of a tightly packed(cmon we have all partly melted a snowball in our hands to make it more lethal) snowball then it becomes something more serious.

Quite funny tbh. It does say that he had been quite aggressive because of a grude. And 31 years of age! The man needs to grow up!

Once again, people not doing their research before getting inflamed.

"The CPS considered an alternative to prosecution such as a conditional caution but decided this was not appropriate due to Mr Smith's previous convictions, including assault and obstructing a police officer."
BBC

The guy clearly has issues.

based on that he was fair cop for getting nicked then. But it still seems like an awful lot of processing time for what at face value is a minor misdemeanor.

A good slap with a truncheon would have sufficed but I guess then we would be calling police brutality :)

Maybe the police didn't want to have snowballs thrown at them. I don't understand the mindset that because it has snowed it's ok to throw frozen water at anyone and everyone.

Exactly - I would've liked the copper to have thrown one back or make him eat snow or something. But the world we live in doesn't allow that, so he was dealt with by the courts.
