I realise there are a LOT of faults with this motherboard but most I've looked at have a solid red light on the memory.
Mine has a solid red on the cpu led and will not boot, all fans are spinning.
I have an Akasa Venom plugged into the cpu fan socket and that is spinning.
I've tried re-seating the ram and in different sockets, haven't tried re-seating cpu but it did take quite some force to close the latch. Worth taking cooler off and having a look?

Was really excited to try out some new kit for the first time. Wish I hadn't bothered now!!

yes, I am not too familiar with intel sockets, but sounds like it could be worthwhile, look at the pins in the socket, then reassemble carefully. Use fresh application of as5 or similar

Well, tried re-seating and moved ram to other slot.
Pins were not bent but I did notice on the cpu itself some small damage on the contacts, nothing extreme but could this be a problem?
Anyway business as usual, getting the red cpu light. It does come on straight away as soon as I power up, cpu doesn't even get warm as well.

Oh well I'll just have to rma in the morning. Just hope I can change the board to a different make, Gigabyte? Might be a good idea to get the cpu changed as well.
