BB 9700 to 9800 upgrade

Can I buy a Blackberry 9800 (torch) to replace my 9700 (bold) and just swap the sim and memory card over or is it not that simple? and if not what would I need to do? thank you.

Yep you can as long as the handset is unlocked...if it is then you can just swap sims as you like although you might need to tell your network so that they can enable the blackberry data plan onto the new handset.

bbm will need a bit of fiddling! to get working again......

think you have to unregister it then re do it

Only takes a few seconds, just need to type your password in on the new phone.

Officially through your carrier it costs about 15-19 depending on who it is, and unofficially through random shops cost from 5 - 10. If done through the carrier you also need to have been with them for a while.
