Hello all, i'm taking the Mrs to London in a month for the weekend and i'm trying to find an excellent restaurant that offers views of the city from high up.......so far the only 2 i've come across are the OXO Tower, and Paramount.

Are there any others in the city centre that offer this? And do any of you have any first hand experience of eating at the 2 mentioned?

Not to fussed on cuisine as we will both eat pretty much anything, and as far as price goes as long as it is roughly the same as the OXO Tower menu pricing (not more) then we should be good!

Any help much appreciated, OcUK, GO!

Unfortunately the highest proper restaurant in London is not open to everybody. Your best bests will indeed be Rhodes 24, Paramount as well as Galvin at Windows.

Alternatively, you could have dinner elsewhere, and enjoy some light bites and champagne in the bar Vertigo 42, which is higher than any restaurant will be.

EDIT: Damn, beaten :p

Hmmm Rhodes24 and Galvin at Windows both look good. Are they any better or worse than the OXO Tower and Paramount?

Also when they say this is a sample menu, do they mean that it isn't the full menu, only a few select dishes?

Aqua Neuva has some pretty good reviews, also has an outdoor terrace that looks out over London and you can peer down on Regent Street... bit cold in winter though.

The best views will be from Shard when it's finished.

40|30 at 30 St Mary Axe if you know someone working there or are a member of Searcys Club.
If this isn't possible go for the OXO tower. It's a fabulous view, right on the river and suprisingly the food and drink is very good if a little expensive.

Book early and make sure you get a table with a river view.

Hmmmm unsure where to go out of Galvin at Windows, Paramount or OXO Tower! Sliding more towards Paramount as the menu looks better!
