Rent an EV

Would depend on the range of an EV but I am not against them as such.

I only really use my car once a month/every 6 weeks to visit friends in Peterborough so its 180 miles each way. Would suck a bit if I couldn't get there on one charge.

Apart from that, trackdays only and unless it was a Telsa I again can't see it being much fun or the battery lasting very long at all!

Chevy Volt is a plug in hybrid so does about 30 miles as a pure EV then fires up a standard engine as a range extender.

I'd hire whatever was most suitable (economical) for the job, if that happened to be an EV or hybrid I'm cool with that.

I also wonder if this is a new avenue for the rental market to explore. No one wants an electric because once a month or less they drive a few hundred miles, well... if it makes financial sense to do so, why not run an EV as your daily and rent a standard IC or Hybrid for those occasional long distance trips?
