Hi

A general question for you. What is the best non-touchscreen phone available? Main usage is:
- E-mails
- Internet
- Phone calls
- Text messages

I'm currently using a Blackberry Bold 9000 with OS5. It's still a fantastic phone and serves me well. Before I do go sim only I'd like to know if there's a better phone out there.

Thank you :)

A newer BB I suppose, but as others said, why don't you try a few slide-out keyboard phones? Their only downside to a BB is that the hardware keyboard is no good for 1-handed operation. If walking down the street while typing with one hand and holding a briefcase in the other is a big thing for you then stay with BB, or wait for a Pré 2.

I've got a 9700 and Hooooooooge hands.. and I can easily walk down the street 'one handed' typing!... its all to do with practice!!.. :D

I'm due an upgrade soon and I might just stay with my 9700 (which has OS6 v424 on it) or get the new 9780... :)

I don't like touch screen either (had a few including iPhone and HTC) but I would considder the 9800 'Torch' Touchscreen from BB as its got a slide out keyboard too or the Torch 2 coming in Q3

I would keep your Bold 9000 and go sim only.

IMO the newer BlackBerries are not substantially better enough and I prefer the the bigger screen and keyboard on the 9000. The only let down is the camera, but hey ho.

The 9000 still works perfectly if all you want is no frills, easy to use E-Mail, SMS, internet and phone. I still have my 9000 after an 18 month contract and nearly a year of sim only!

9780 or the 9700 tbqh...both brilliant phones..the 9780 is just an updated 9700 with a 5mp camera and the new OS 6 on it. In fact tommorrow im getting my fiancee a new 9780 as her upgrade is due.

Mind you the Bold is getting old...ditched mine for the 9700 which i then ditched for the 9800 torch....im waiting to see what the new BB's are before i decide on my next BB....massive rumour circulating that the Bold 9000 will be updated to have a touchscreen but will keep the same dimensions as the old 9000 Bold....codenamed the Dakota.
