Good bubbly for £50?

Could go for a cheaper bottle and some gift vouchers?

To be honest once you get above 20 quid on champagne I don't think you're getting good value for money.

Im not knocking your idea but if it were me id be more tempted to get her something of use to her. The only reason i say this is because ive got about 5 bottles of champagne which ive had for ages, because ive never had a good enough excuse to use them.

Yeah, that's part of what I'm getting at. A £50 bottle of bubbly is for a special occasion. A £20 bottle is enjoyable any time. If you gave the £20 and vouchers I think it'd be better for that reason.

Why the heck you need an excuse if you have 5 bottles

Champagne isn't lager :p

When my brother announced he was getting engaged (it wasn't a big announcement he already lived with her and had a daughter) myself and several other friends/family shot round. Just about everybody had a bottle of bubbly that we'd been waiting for an excuse to use. Since it was my brother I'd have used a £50 bottle, but the other people would probably not have had a good enough excuse.

£20 bubbly is still very good and enjoyable. £50 and you start to get into the realms of worrying if you're going to waste something and not enjoy it right.

You dont know my sister :p

It might be a bit "80's" but for a thankyou you still can't beat a bottle of Bollinger for that price range. Good quality and a name that will be recognised as "up market".
