they already own the rights if tey don't make a new one they lose them.

To buy another ip would be an expensive gamble.

Can't see why they aren't tying it in with Avengers really :/ Have they actually announced who is going to be on the Avengers team this time?

Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Hulk. Nick Fury and War Machine will be involved too.

This Spider-Man film is supposedly based on Ultimate Spider-Man. It's not a Marvel Studios film because Sony still own the rights to the franchise, therefore it doesn't take place in the MCU.
 
Was he in the social network, that Eduardo bloke? If so he wasn't too bad...

The series does need "rebooting" though and I will no doubt go and see this, might do what Mr Nolan did for Batman...
 
I have very low expectations of the new Spiderman film :( and very high expectations of the Avengers. :)

So does that mean no marvel reference at the start of the film? Not sure of the technical term but all the marvel films have it :confused:
 
anyone else done with these superhero films?

its far too early to reboot spiderman again, another xmen film is on the way

avengers is shaping up to be pretty rubbish
ironman 2 was pretty crappy (especially the avengers bits)
Incredible hulk reboot was pretty rubbish
thor looks terrible
captain america might be ok?

its all been done to death already!

Based on what does The Avengers look rubbish? It hasn't even started filming! I doubt you'll find many that agree with you regarding Iron Man 2, the Hulk reboot was quite good IMO, better than the previous Hulk film and I know a lot are disappointed that Norton is not returning for the Avengers film. Thor's not out yet so who knows how good it will be, likewise Captain America
 
oh just that the avengers bits in iron man 2 where poor, the nick fury and blackwidow characters where pretty dull

didnt really enjoy the hulk film but it was better than the first try

the thor trailer made me proper ROFL all over my lounge

if the parts that make up the avengers stuff are this bad then I dont hold out much hope but hey might be wrong
 
Comic book movies are generally very hit and miss. Being a huge Marvel fan (well a huge DC fan as well lol) it is nice to see a good movie based on the comics. Of the last few releases I have to say that Iron Man 2 was very disappointing (Scarlett sucked as Black Cat - not literally unfortunately), Hulk was very watchable....I think Spidey 3 was the last one I watched before that - and that was rubbish. The Dark Knight was amazing.

Regarding this new movie, Garfield looks like a huge wimp I am afraid, don't have high hopes for a reboot after hardly ten years since the first one. Money-grubbing swine. Hopefully I am going to be miraculously proved wrong :D
