Another excellent post on the official xbox forums!

Brilliant! I love the way it now labels people as cheats if they are caught:D

It's a wee bit crazy that Microsoft deal with irregularities in Gamerscore. I don't think Sony would ever do this but given the fact that you have to pay for Xbox Live Gold, I suppose it gives some gamers out there (who care! :p) assurance that it is a level playing field

He earned online achievements, whilst offline

Saaaaaaaaay whaaaaat?

Some of you really need to learn how to read.

He was caught getting Onine Achivements whilst Off line, i.e probably multiplayer related ones that you have to do on-line he got them offline.

Fml.

Caught doing what? All it says was he earned the achievements while offline. Since when (and why) does that count as cheating...

He earned achievements that you could only achieve online through co-op or online races or whatever, but they were achieved/activated offline. So he cheated.

What about if you transfer a profile with online achievements from one console to another, while offline?

Since the achievements go to the XBL profile assuming that he had been online at some point then the data would be uploaded to the XBL servers with the time stamps etc. So it wouldn't matter surely if he did a data transfer while offline as when he put that console online the profile data would pair up with what was on the XBL servers.

If of course he had never been online then he of course had been cheating. Simples (if badly explained)

The Cheat label has been around for sometime. Biron I know someone that you have played alongside on MW2 back in the day that was caught and he started a new account. We ragged the **** out of him for it, it was so funny.

Kinda funny. :D

Makes me think of that guy with like the green skinned avatar when they were doing the console bans and he asked on the forum why he was banned.

We had some fooligan on here a while back complaining about losing all his gamerscore. He was adamant he'd not been cheating. Someone checked his profile and found out he'd scored about 5000 points in a day in properly hard games.
