I have, just found out I've had the guts of £40 taken from my account without me realising.

Apparently if you sign up for any "free" credit search with the option to cancel...then you also int he small print, sign up for this company which takes 19.95 out of your account every month....even if you've cancelled the free credit thing

scamming ****ers and I'm not too pleased!!

there is small print and there is a STUPID amount of small print clauses to catch you out :/

Fully star out any swearing please.

They didn't scam you, you didn't read all the details or check around to see if anyone has had problems with them. You also didn't notice for 2 months that they were taking money.

Sounds exactly like a scam to me! Pretty sure that would fall under the unfair contract law or whatever it is called.

May be illegal under the unfair contract laws? Just because something is in small print doesn't mean it's reasonable or legal. Small print is to clarify the fine points not to hide charges and deceive.

This is really no different to selling an xbox on ebay and putting in the small print, "box only", ie a scam.

It's not even small print, assuming he signed up through a company like "creditcheckinstantly" (who have all manner of trading names), it say's very clearly when you're entering your credit/debit card details that:
