Just had 50MB installed along with the obligatory Virgin SuperHub today. Im hitting 50MB easy on http speed tests. However utorrent is a different matter. My previous 10MB connection give me good speeds most of the time and tend to hit 1MB download late-night through to the early hours of the morning.

Now...Im stuggling to hit 10kbps download on a torrent with 6 seeds and no leechers. Something isnt right.

Can anyone share any experiences/solutions please? With 50Mb how many active downloads should I have? What upload speed? Any particular settings in utorrent need changing?

Dissapointed :(

48 seeders, 7 leechers - Hovering around 2MB.

I dont understand then, how the lesser shared torrents can be slower than the 10MB connection though?

Traffic shaping?

I know if i resign my O2 connection i'll be bandwidth managed but as it stands i'm an old customer on the old contract so they don't play with my connection. Maybe the upgrade they've applied a new bandwidth management profile to your account.

Depends on what you are downloading, sometimes I get 1mb/s on 50mb and through crappy powerlines, sometimes I get 5kb/s. It depends on the seeders upload speed probably more than your download.
