Brazil floods: Poor dog!

Aha damn you, have you been spying on me in the showers?!

Try the next cubicle along, you are obviously looking at the wrong person :)

As a dog owner I can see what the OP is getting at, I feel for the person who has lost their dog. However if I was to loose family I would feel even worse, 500 people dead in floods, that will hit the families very hard.

I don't understand the hate for the OP!

Just because you value human life more than animals it doesn't mean everyone does. Someone shouldn't be attacked due to thinking so.

There is definitely a huge bond between me and my dog, i would hate for something to happen to him like that.

He IS a family member in our house.

You can see how happy he is when we get home in his face, never mind his tail!

Human life is still extremely important and valuable to me, just in case i get dragged into this.

Also since the dog was called Beethoven.

She is lucky it wasn't the breed from the movies.
No doubt she would have struggled to hold a St. Bernard under her arm!

What if it was 500 dogs and 1 human?

Probably wouldn't change the way the animal people feel.

Some people put humans first, some put animals first.

I for one donate to 3-4 animals charities every month, maybe do the odd human charity once a year. It's personal feelings at the end of the day.

As tragic as may be, fact is, Humans are quite stupid when it comes to self-preservation, animals don't have to worry about leaving the TV or their iPhone etc. and going back to get it or even staying with it... Animal survival instincts over-ride everything else whereas Humans can be quite the opposite, I remember watching the flooding in Pakistan and some guy completely refused to leave because the rescuers would not take his Cow, his Cow would never have fitted on the small inflatable anyway but the guy refused to leave, he probably died, along with his precious Cow.

I don't even think it's a bout that, I saw the video on the news my self, and felt sad watching it, it doesn't mean that I care more for the dog than the 500 people who have died, it simply means I've seen the video and found it sad, it's very easy not to feel sad about things when you can't see them actually happening.

The stupidity shown in this thread is beyond comprehension  I'm sure the OP cares about the 500 people but they arent in this video, only the dog....

Bold for emphasis.

lrn2read articles perhaps? you know, like the one that the OP linked which happens to have a video in it too.
