So, I was spray painting and foolishly didnt wear a mask...

I inhaled a bit of paint, nopt v much.. 20 minutes later i blew my nose and there was red paint on the tissue :O

Will I be ok??

I rarely spray paint but I don't know how much causes a problem?

Medical thread. Get down the hospital and have them check you over, I imagine it can't be good for you.

After a quick google. it turns out that it isnt a big problem and that the cilia/mucus will clean it out gradually... :O
Tbh it wasnt much i inhaled... i think i will live

You weren't doing it like this were you?

a bit of most paints won't hurt once in a while, but really if you're spraying on a regular basis or a lot you need to either have a well ventilated area, or a filter/mask on.

One of the best investments I've made for model work was a proper extractor unit, and a P2 (I think it is) face mask.
The face mask was only about £25 including filters and is great, although the extractor is enough to keep the general level of overspray/paint muck in the air down a lot which is very good for wherever you're spraying and pretty good for you as well (although not as good for you as a proper mask with particle/vapour filters).

Mmm, had a similar story, was knocking down plasterboard in my dad's old bathroom as we were redoing it (walls 'n' all).

Later on blew my nose and was like black tar.

inb4 coolstory bro.

End of it is, I'm fine.

Don't waste the hospital's time on this.

Read the thread, he's already decided he isn't going.

Besides, are you qualified to decide who or who isn't worth hospital time? It's Friday night (now Saturday morning), I expect they're overwhelmed with socially conditioned drunken twits. I'm sure someone who's just inhaled a nasty toxic substance into his respiratory system doesn't even register on their radar.

Don't be such a fool. If someone feels they need medical attention, or in this case - opinion - then that's what the hospital is there for. He could've called up NHS direct but I bet you they would have told him the exact same thing after their phone monkey had gone through the obvious on their checklist.

Health is not something you should ever take a chance on. Once it's gone, that's it.

I will agree on this, though expect a long waiting time in the hospital do get yourself checked out, it could cause side effects. If not the hospital then do get yourself checked out from the doctor to be on the safe side.
