(sorry for the slightly morbid post)

what would be the things you regretted not doing the most?

i would regret not attempting to forge something with a girl who i have liked for 4 years now but never had the bottle to do anything about
i would regret not swimming the great barrier reef
i would regret perhaps not telling my parents how i appreciate my upbringing

strange how i will continue to do nothing about this

Not forgiving some people

Never having made a go of things with an old friend of mine, though strictly speaking I can't regret that as I'm married

Not having more and better sex

You could, and this may seem crazy but just hear me out, ring your parents and say thanks. That's one thing that's easily done. Point 1 would just involve growing some balls. That may prove tricky.

I like the use of the subjunctive in the thread title.
Glad to see not everyone on here is an illiterate peasant :D

i'd regret screwing up the one relationship i've had where i felt happy (i regret it now)
i'd regret not travelling the world
i'd regret spending so much time writing music and not trying to get it 'out there'

I think I had that conversation with my parents when I graduated and got married and left home. I think I said pretty much that in my wedding speech, come to think of it.

I'd regret not learning more about my parents' lives. It's only lately I've started asking them more about how they grew up and what they've done.

I regret not having shagged the bird next door. her sister and their mum.
I regret not having climbed Everest wearing y-fronts and suspenders.
I regret not telling my parents that I was ambidextrous when they forced me to write with my right hand.

this is exactly how i have felt lately both with my parents and grandparents (all but one who are deceased) but the opposition is that i'm trying to forge a life for myself and find i am increasingly finding the balance difficult and sometimes feel i am being selfish and then other times i feel that at 31, i have every right to continue to pursue my own thing

My regrets are many, but all things I haven't done yet apart from one:

Not following through with my RAF pilot scholarship! but then, I wouldn't be married right now :S
