These lists are always a complete joke.
Really no point in even reading them. They must pull the titles and positions out of a hat or something.

All lists are subjective. No need getting your knickers in a twist over them. I have to say though, PC Gamer have overdosed themselves on subjectivity, they need to see a doc asap...
Actually their yearly lists don't make any sense, as others have pointed out. Which gives them zero credibility....like most game journalists really

What's the average of PC GAMER readers? early 20's? There obviously a few older readers from some of the suggestions but the majority are probably from people that have never played the older games.

Sorry didn't make it very clear, I was making a separate point that Minecraft, a game made by one person is preferred to hundreds of games that cost thousands if not millions to make.
It's good, I like it, but I don't think it compares to C&C:RA2

I can't think of 10 things at once either to be honest (and I'm not a Yank
)To me, it is just another example of the list being wrong... I probably have hundreds of hours on CS and CSS but minecraft bored me after a few. Sure... Some list may rate minecraft above CS and CSS but that certainly isn't reflected in the general public.

2nd best RTS of all time behind Broodwar. Should be there imo.

Shame it doesn't work on modern computers. I bought it last year, and you can only get so far, before there is a certain part of the game that cannot be completed.
You're supposed to follow this guy from a distance, but modern PCs make him move so far ahead you can never catch up.
Still, I hear the game just ends out of nowhere, because they never had time to finish it.
No mention of the greatest multiplayer game of all time, TFC, yet TF2 is in at #4, lol. TF2 has about 10% of the depth TFC did. Conc maps, deathmatch, clanned, puzzle maps, they all had cult followings. TF2 is just a shallow, frustrating experience. You walk so slow, get backstabbed by invisible enemies, get killed by ubered players which you cannot damage, get 1 shotted by skilless lucksacks with a single crit, and that's before the fiasco that is the mannconomy. The only time I find TF2 enjoyable is when you've just discovered an exploit that makes you more powerful than everyone else, like the amputator glitch, it means you can finally affect the outcome of the game by yourself. In TFC you didn't need exploits for this. You just had to practice your skills and come back and rape everyone honestly. Hate the way games are going... sigh.

Episode 2 in there on its own? Its a nice continuation but surely cant be classed as the 20th best game ever on its own? Its basically an expantion pack which shouldnt be included - a good but short and all too similar one.
Warcraft the second BEST game? maybe in popularity but that hardly means its the second best game ever. Its addictive but without the community then its repetative and quite dull by this stage. Oh well one mans crap is another mans treasure.
Some great inclusions and some very very questionable ones that reek of developer loyalty or pandering to popular opinion. Same with every list of this type, have to admit the pc zone from a few years ago seemed a bit more accurate (for me that is).

The fact that the same games from the same magazines in the 'best ever' lists move around so much means its a huge joke. Games that were top 10 are all of a sudden middle of the pack. Theyve basically picked popular games from today from most categories and thrown them around depending on which the people who put it together liked more then added their nostalgia choices.
