does this still work with modded 6950's
im not interested in using the voltage tool as im using asus smart doc

also

is it only supported for 32bit ?

Something makes me thing there is more to this whole unlocking thing than meets the eye.

using 6970 voltage controller config won't be recogninzed properly and won't be supported by Afterburner out of box.

I wonder if amd are trying to limit things; allowing the unlock really stole nvidia's thunder, but to allow msi to just make them full 6970s with all overclocking options would truly obsolete the 6970. I think amd have had words in msi's ear. Another example is that an msi employee put a higher catalyst limit bios up, which did not support stock pcbs.

Another clue is that as far as i know, the asus 6950 came with the same catalyst limits as the other cards- but the 6970 had them increased. Why would asus do this- it just isnt their mo? They always up the catalyst limits, however this time if they had, every last 6950 user would use an asus bios, set 870/1400+unlock shaders; and could up volts and clock from there. Then a 6970 becomes truly pointless.

To my mind I think this problem, as per the hint in bold is surmountable, just not by people with official ties to amd.

I think we all got marketed at worse than wood screws- yes we got a bit of extra power, but now we have a choice, you cant just unlock shaders and clock, meaning that you can actually get more power/efficiency by NOT unlocking!!! Best ever sales tactic- get people to sell themselves!

HAPPY DAYS
this has now made asus smart doc redundant for me
clock and mem and volts all controlled in AB with asus 6950 unlocked bios

I can bench at 1000 on the core with my 6970 but I need 1250mv an the fan set to 50% to pass a 3dmark 11 bench test.

If I leave the fan on auto and the temps get about 81c it crashes every time yet with the fan at 50% and the temps topping out at 71c is passes without issues.

Just a shame that 50% on the fan is too noisy for me :p

gave it a go for the first time, i like the monitoring on it but when i ran a game it crashed after about half an hour, never had a problem with sapphire trixx but then this is a beta or it could have been just one of those things, i will give it another go when i have more time

Was playing a bit with it, I could pass mark and heaven on 980/1450 with 1250v, anything above gave me crashes. I saw so small increase in point that it's not wort ocing for me. Bc2 with those clocks crashed after 4 min :/ Now i'm trying to undervolt to get lower temps.
i've played a bit with undervolting, i managed to have stable oc with 915/1420@1100v played a bit of bc2 temps were ~71c with auto fan which didn't reached more than 35%, so it's hard to hear it, happy :)

it wasnt working for me(AB) fixed it now. only issue is powerplay does not work, are the cards clocking down for you when at the desktop?

Buggy on my HD6850, won't apply settings on startup and sometimes resets to default clocks when applying some saved profiles.

if unofficial overclocking is enabled powerplay wont work.

theres a way around it, i had it working yesterday, i was alt tabbing out of a game and clocking it up via AB and when back on desktop the clocks went down. i guess its because smartdoctor isnt installed, im on a fresh install at the moment. will install sd now

weird, you got a perfect world there.

not really, wife is telling me i spend too much time on the computer, im gonna have to leave her i think ;)

HA

i notice you are not overclocked, well not in ab anyway. can you use after burner to clock up the core and still have powerplay?
