Misfire on a 1.8 Focus

Hai guys,

51 plate 1.8 Focus.

It's got a misfire, its in the same place in the rev range in pretty much any gear.

When your pulling away and the car goes from tickover and crosses the 1200/1300rpm mark it misfires just once then carries on.

Does it in all gears pretty much, doesn't misfire otherwise and runs fine as well.

Any thoughts chaps? schpark plug maybe?

Oh man, same engine as my mondeo - hope you don't end up with the same trouble that I had.

Sounds like HT leads or a spark plug to me - if it was coil pack it's usually more than just the one misfire.

Cheers, going to sort out a dodgy earth on it tomorrow (the speedo works when it feels like it) will take a look at the plugs etc then

I think I might have sorted it on Thursday though - I'll give it a few more days with my fingers crossed and hopefully my car will remain misfire free

plugs cost a quid each on ECP, leads aren't much more for a set.

No mate, I overslept and didn't make it

It had been getting worse recently and more annoying too...Dad got in the car...was perfect, dropped him off, started again :mad:

Gonna take a look, hopefully tomorrow. Will keep the thread updated.
