Taggs Mx5

Drivers seats a bit far forward isn't it?:D

Looks very nice. Wheels are the best I have ever seen on a mk2. I look forward to chasing you around tracks :)

I like it! Seeing as you can pay £4k for a similar condition Mk1 in some places I'd say that was a good buy :)

The wheels suit it too. Most MX5s with after market wheels look like they need hitting with the lowering stick but this works quite well. Induction kits and exhausts won't gain you anything noticeable on an MX5 but they can sound very nice so worth it just for that in my opinion. www.mx5parts.co.uk sell some nice exhausts and they do the Typhoon too.

Also, I assume it's the 1.8 seeing as it has the 6 speed and LSD? If I ever get round to supercharging my Mk1 I'll be after the 6 speed to complement it.

Looks very smart, have to say that I'm very envious of that.
Ref the Typhoon, had one on my old mk2. Never felt the need for an aftermarket exhaust with the typhoon in place. All it meant was that it sounded great when you gunned it, but was lovely and quite whilst pottering around. Perfect really.

Yup 1.8. Also I spotted a identical one near me for sale but one year younger and standard wheels for 5.2k :D

What is the difference between the MK2 and 2.5?

It's just a modernising and trim level exercise rather than a mechanical one. Things like the heated seats and deadlocking. I think the 6 speed box is unique to the 2.5 though, and I think the LSD is different to adjust for this. They might also have bigger brakes but I'm not sure on that one. Apart from this, not much I don't think

I urge you lot in your hot hatches to get out in one of these little MX-5's. Put away the stereotype thoughts for a bit, don't expect to have your brain bashed by the power but find a nice little country road, get the roof down and open it up. It's what 'fun' should be about really as it will move around all over the place, give you lots of feedback and show you how you don't need power to have fun. You can also add power, reduce weight and then you will have something will actually hand virtually any hot hatch it's arse all for 10k all in. Fabulous little things and I say that as someone who has had a few special motors and driven a list of very special motors.
