I brought he blackops PC form overclockers about 2 months ago, this morning I booted up my PC and got "overclock failed message" So I called Overlockers they told me to change the voltage the CPU 1.3375.

I ran Real Temp/Prime 95 test:

84C seems high any ideas, I am worried to leave my pc rendering 8+ hours in case it over heats, I have never overclocked my self doing some reading now into but don't want to mess it up any tips?

my rig runs at 4.2 at 1.288 stable never had any issues.

Wow how are you max temps so low? water cooled also how do you get 4GHz showing on CPUz min shows 2086.6??? for some reason surely its should at least show 3GHz the standard clock speed

I doubt they are max load temperatures. Real Temp running for 15 seconds at idle!:D

Intel's power saving technology "Speed Step" most likely cause of showing 2086.6 on CPU-Z/Real Temp. Run a stress testing programme and then it'll go up to 100% load and what ever you have set your CPU to in the BIOS.

Ah I see thanks for reply now just need to get these temps lower

Yeah using a push/pull setup will help a little. Do 4 hour Prime95 and keep an eye on temps. If all nice and stable can go into BIOS and try lowering Vcore to get a better overclock as most 950s shouldn't need 1.3375v. My 920 does 4ghz @ 1.2850v.

Thanks for the advice will try this once I have time

which fan are you using anyway? my temps never get past 75C on my i7 2600k at 4,8Ghz using the same heatsink and one Scythe Slip Stream

Using the Prolimatech Megahalems Rev B CPU Cooler with Akasa AK-FN058 Apache Black Super Silent 120mm Fan I believe.
