How much better is a Dell UltraSharp U2410 then a 2405FPW ??

Has anyone comapared a U2410 to a 2405FPW ??

As am wondering if it worth me upgrading my 2405FPW to a U2410
As my 2405FPW most be about 4 or 5 years old now and surely the latest U2410 monitor most be far far better

ok makes more sense. well unless you have any serious problems with the 2405FPW i'm not sure how much benefit you'd see in an upgrade unless you needed to make use of the new features:

wide gamut support, better input lag, better responsiveness, more inputs, new design?

Just from reading the spec - I don't think there's a massive difference.
But if you only have one screen you should definitely get a second - and why not the U2410 :)

The thing am really interested in is the better input lag & better responsiveness and how much difference this makes to FPS gaming ??

As the picture quailty on my 2405 still looks great but feel i notice the input lag in gaming which is annoying ..

I'd question whether the input lag is your monitor or your mouse?

Do you have a wired gaming mouse with USB polling increased to 500Hz?
No i use a microsoft wireless laser mouse 8000 that came with my wireless keyboard..
and a wired microsoft intellimouse explorer 3 USB

well....? to answer your own question whats the comparison like?
So far it much much better..
The colours are great and is much closer to CRT picture quailty and i can see much more detail in dark areas :)

Just wish i upgraded to the U2410 months ago..

P.S
But how much difference is because of difference monitor settings i don't know
If i had one them tools to setup both monitors exactly the same there maybe less improvement

I've used a 2405FPW next to a U2410 and 2407WFP and once hardware calibrated there's not that much in it. The 2405 & 2407 have better contrast and of course no IPS glow, but the U2410 does have a slightly better image generally. I think proper calibration helps keep older monitors looking better as the backlight changes over time and presumably other degradation occurs.

When first arriving it's easy to think the wide colour gamut of the U2410 is yielding a better picture because of the over saturated colours but when used with software that correctly handles the wide colour gamut or when using sRGB mode there is less of a difference - to my eyes anyway :)
