Property Sale Question

Would a property having a burglar alarm be a good thing or a bad thing if you were viewing properties to buy?

Bad as in "Ooh it must be dodgy round here if they have a burglar alarm" or Good as in "Ooh extra security, sold!"

Just looking for opinions, ta

What? Even if I lived in one of the nicest, most expensive, crime free areas in the world, I'd still have one.

I think depends what you read in to it. The owners could just be very security conscious or it might be a term on their insurance, who knows?

If you really want to get to the bottom of it, check out the local crime statistics if you are interested in a particular property. That will be the clarification you need, no doubt.

Yeah it's nearly brand new, only fitted 3 months ago. Just wondering, it personally wouldn't put me off purchasing, after being burgled I'd consider it a bonus feature of the property. Was just wanting other people's opinions in case it might go against my flat which should hopefully be going on the market next week, as I'm looking for a quick sale I don't really want to put off any prospective buyers.
