Right so I want a powerlifting belt, a good one and I have a chance to get one for pretty much half the price it would normally cost me.

http://www.inzernet.com/detail_belt.asp?PRODUCT_ID=FOREVERBELT_BUCKLE13

This is the belt in question. However I have an issue with the sizing, around my stomach I measure 32", now it is unlike that I will get much smaller but very probable that I will get wider. Inzer's sizing is 28-32" and 33-35", now I did some research and someone claimed that they measure the max size (so 28-32" and 33-35" to the middle hole in the belt. If this is the case then the smaller size is fine for me but if not I will have to buy the larger one and take my chances.

Can anyone offer any advice on the matter? Is it the norm for the sizes to be measured that way or has anyone had similar experiences?

Any help is appreciated greatly :)

Surely you could make extra holes in it if needed? Is there not anywhere in the UK you could try one on before ordering online?

I didn't get on with my belt when I tried it, just found it made things akward and actually harder!

Yeah I can get holes made, it's just that with the smaller belt if I wanted it bigger I only have room for maybe one hole, so an extra inch or so. The bigger one I can make as small as it needs to be but considering I'm paying £60 I don't want to get second best. A friend has the same belt but he doesn't know what size it was because he bought it second hand from a friend of his and I know inzer have changed their sizing recently. A guy called Andy Bolton is a rep but he isn't much help apparently, coming from people who have dealt with him before.

There is a period with a thick leather belt where it moulds to your body so during that time they can be very uncomfortable but I have used that belt before having borrowed it from that friend on certain occasions. It's more a safety thing for me really, I know a lot of guys with herniated disks from lifting heavy without a belt and although I'm not quite there yet one day I will be so I thought I might as well keep myself safe now :)

I've got a neoprene Phd one, which is velcro. There's no wear in period but I'm not sure if these are as durable.

If in doubt buy the bigger one. You never know if you fall out of lifting and get back into it 10-15 years later what size your waistline may be by then!

Inzer make good kit. Surely you could send it back if it doesn't fit right.
Also, if you train in a typical powerlifters gym then chances are someone else will have one you can try.

Failing that, contact inzer and ask them for confirmation on sizing and making bigger/smaller

Sending it back is a problem, I can get it cheap because I have a friend over there at the moment, the shipping is usually about $90-$100 so pretty much the cost of the belt and then there is tax and things like that. So if I was to send it back it would be double the shipping on top of the price of the belt. There is a guy at my gym who has an Inzer forever belt but it is old and I'm not sure if the sizing was changed before or after it's original purchase.

Annoyingly Inzer don't have an email address and to call them would cost a few pounds too. I think my best bet is this guy Andy Bolton just at least to ask about the sizes but that could take a while. I think if it comes to the last chance and I have no word from him I'll just get the smaller one and sell it when it doesn't fit me anymore.

Benny: unfortunately neoprene ones aren't competition legal so it makes more sense for me to get one that I can use in a meet

Asking Andy is a great option. I'm sure he would be more than willing to help out with info :)

I have sent him an email :). Hopefully, I can find out what to do soon. If I don't hear form him I'm going to look into ringing Inzer
