Hi all...

Is anyone else eagerly anticipating the new Rival Schools album 'Pedals' (pushed back to March 2011)? The first single 'Shot After Shot' is already out:


I've also been listening to Walter Shreifels' solo record, 'An Open Letter to the Scene' a lot and really like it, even if it isn't as hard hitting as Rival Schools stuff.


Any other fans out there?
 
Heard about this the other day, hoping it's as good as United By Fate.

Check out Quicksand if you haven't already, Shreifels' band before Rival Schools - a bit harder and more gritty, I love them.
 
Absolutely love Rival Schools. My very hardcore welsh, hates everything popular and all english (:p) got me into them.

United by Fate really is one of my favourite albums and the first single from teh new one sounds ace too.
 
Love Walter. He's a musical hero of mine. Quicksand changed my life.
Can't wait for the new RS album and the tour with '..trail of dead' is probably my perfect line up for a gig! Tip top!!
 
It's crossed my mind to start threads about these kinds of artists a whole bunch of times but I never, ever done it because I didn't think anyone would care.

I'm happy I'm mistaken!
 
I wan't a huge Gorilla Biscuits or CIV fan, but love Quicksand and Rival Schools. I was surprised how good his solo record was, a lot more like Rival Schools stuff than I thought it would be. I was worried it'd be a kind of boring acoustic-fest.

I didn't realise they were going to tour with Trail of Dead. That'll be awesome.

On a bit of a side note, has anyone else heard the new Far record 'At Night We Live'? Really enjoying it as well. I also discovered Silversun Pickups not so long ago and they'll have a new album out in the new year too. It seems like there are quite a few good hardcore bands resurfacing at the minute.

I'm not huge on Far, although Water and Solutions is a good record, but I do like Jonah's solo stuff. His onelinedrawing record, The Volunteers, is pretty good. Really, really nice guy too.

Yup! Massive Rival Schools fan. Been waiting for this since 2003.
Already got my CD and hoodie pre-ordered :D

I just hope it's more like United by Fate than the rubbish Walter did with Walking Concert a few years back. The new single is pretty good at least :)
