Only problem is people mistaking it for a Scirocco or worse still an Astra VXR.

They have definately ripped off the Astra VXR's styling. The Megane now has the hot hatch looks and renowned renault dynamics in the same package, would be top of the list if I were buying a new hot hatch.

Good write up, although I'm really not sure how you can say the RS is harder for day to day use? It has more torque, slightly softer suspension and smoother gearbox.

The Megane does handle well, but in my opinion the RS is a much better all round package, but then I would say that after owning one for 9months. Also, the Megane was 5k cheaper when they were both new.

I can't help but feel the back is just a copy of an Astra VXR, the stick on arches are a little cheap and those wheels are a little Halfords, which are the main reason I didn't choose one.

Just my opinion. Enjoy the car mate, it does handle well.

My sister has this but without the cup pack, she preferred the renault full leather electric heated seats etc and didnd't like how crashy the suspension was. Seems a very nice car! Certainly doesn't feel as quick as it actually is though, and not where my money would've been for how much they are but that's just me

As I said, it was a tough call between the two (as per that Evo review, strangely).

For me, I found the power delivery of the RS far less linear, and as I do a lot of driving on twisty/country b-roads, suspension and chassis are more important than power and straight-line speed - so for the type of driving I do, it's the easier car to drive.

Image/Styling: Always loved what Renault do style-wise since the original mégane coupé (which, again I bought from new in 1996 and only passed on last year).

I'm incredibly biased so can do nothing but agree Great call, not a fan of the white myself but unlike most I love the wheels. I would have to pick one up in yellow should I ever get the chance.

Think the wheels Janesy posted are my fave option, but to be honest I'm not struck on any of the available options.

Still want to have a go in one of these to see how they compare to the previous model.

RS Monitor is a good laugh tbh worth the money considering the extra sensors and stuff that needs installing to the car!
