Anyone know of any good, reputable ones?
Preferably to link to paypal (simply as I'm familiar with paypal) but willing to experiment with other systems as long as they're reputable, good value and reliable.
It won't be for lots of transactions, for a small business, maybe a couple of hundred pounds a week tops for now.

Also can anyone recommend any android specific forums and app review sites?

Thanks!

Anyone?

Here's a post I just put up copied from the Android modaco forum. Does no one use any of these merchant apps?

I've had a search and can't find anything which is kind of surprising.

I'm having a tough time find an app from a reputable company that will allow the easy acceptance of credit card payments in the UK.

I find this article which lists a few companies.

Mobile Merchant Pro
Merchant Pro
Merchant On The Move
Square
PayPal
MPayy

I'd love to use Square as it's got a great reputation and seems quite simple and reliable but it only available in the states. Most of the others seem the same too or else they can't actually take credit card payments, they're just money transfer apps.

Does anyone have any experience using one of these or another app/company in the UK?

Thanks!

I can't believe how hard it is to find out good info about this considering the number of merchant apps for the iPhone, surely there's got to be some good ones that work in the UK for Android?

Can anyone suggest any good iPhone apps and can maybe see if there's android equivalents or does anyone know of any good mobile forums I might be able to ask the questions elsewhere?

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean? I'm not currently signed up to any service to accept credit cards if that's what you mean?

No then you don't.
Thats what a mechant account is.

I have used worldpay (google) in the distant past, and they do it through a web interface so in theory you could do it from your phone.
But its not just as simple as 'I want to allow people to pay with CC etc'.
So any app would only connect you through a merchant account service anyway as it can connect through normal web extensions, but i doubt they have an app.
There are mobile POS devices already that would allow you to take payment remotely.
I would contact a bank and get your mechant account setup and then apply for the POS device.
